Nana Varveropoulou was born in Athens in 1977. She spent most of her childhood in a small park in Pagrati, sitting on a bench with her grandma, observing the world pass by. This led her to start taking pictures.

She came to London in 1999, where she continued observing and taking pictures. She did not spend much time in London parks because she found them scary. Instead, she dedicated her time to studying her BA and MA in photography at London College of Communication, and to developing her career as a freelance photographer working for various prestigious UK and European publications. In the last few years, Nana has also developed a number of long-term personal projects that have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Nana also teaches photography at a central London photography college.

More and more, she reminds herself of her grandma.
